Unbillable Hours by Ian Graham is a riveting account of his first year at a
multi-national law firm in Los Angeles and the pro bono case he took on to
appeal the murder conviction of Mario Rocha.  This is a troubling story
about the obvious mishandling of Rocha’s trial by his own attorney as well
as by the prosecution and the realities of gang life in L.A.  But Graham
also tells about the grueling life of a first year associate at a prestigious
law firm where salaries are high but free time to spend it is rare. Ian Graham
will sign
Unbillable Hours on July 10 from 10 a.m. - noon.

Every Wednesday from 10:00 - 10:30 a.m.  - Kids' Story Time for preschoolers.

Book Discussion Group -  On Thursday, July 8 at 7:00 p.m. we will be discussing
Mennonite in a Little Black Dress by Rhoda Janzen.  This is Janzen's memoir of going
back home to her Mennonite family after she is left by her husband and left with a
huge mortgage on the home they just bought together and has a serious car
accident.  While there is nothing funny about any of that, this book is laugh out loud
funny.  Published by Holt, it is now available in paperback.

In conjunction with the Shelbyville-Shelby County Public Library and Shelbyville
Middle School we will host a teen book group on Friday, June 9 at 4 p.m. at the
Bookmark.  The next book that we will be reading is Feed by M. T. Anderson.  For
Titus and his teenage friends, having transmitters in their heads is a normal as going
to the moon or Mars on vacation or as common as the lesions that have begun to
appear on their bodies.  A gripping, intriguing and unique cautionary tale.

Don't forget the Farmers Market every Saturday from 8 a.m. till noon on the east side of the parking
circle inside the public square.  After you visit the market stop by for a smoothie or a frozen

creme de menthe freeze for $2.99.

p.m. to 7 p.m.
